CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) Annual Growing Smarter Together Awards Program showcases excellence in local government. The awards recognize both personal and program or project-oriented work that demonstrates a significant achievement toward moving the region's Bay Area vision to implementation. Single jurisdictions or groups of jurisdictions working in partnership may submit nominations for the Regional Growing Smarter Together Awards. These awards recognize the positive work being undertaken by cities, towns and counties in the Bay Area.

Award categories include:

Building a Better Bay Area - Urban Design Award to the City of Berkeley for the Oxford Plaza and David Brower Center. Public-Private Partnership Award to San Mateo County for HEART-Housing Endowment and Regional Trust. Preserving and Protecting the Environment Award to Alameda County and Public Works Department for Peralta Creek Restoration Project. The Start It Up Award was presented to the City of San Leandro for its Downtown Transit-Oriented Development Strategy. On the Ground—Getting It Done Award to Union City for implementation efforts within the City’s Intermodal Station District
