Joint Policy Committee The Joint Policy Committee (JPC) coordinates the regional planning efforts of the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), the Bay Area Air Quality Management District (BAAQMD), the Bay Conservation and Development Commission and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC). Among the JPC's current initiatives are focused growth, climate protection, and development of a sustainable communities strategy pursuant to SB 375. The JPC has twenty voting members: five from the Executive Board of ABAG, five from the BAAQMD Board of Directors, five BCDC Commissioners, and five MTC Commissioners. A representative of the Secretary of the State of California's Business, Transportation and Housing Agency is a non-voting member. The Committee meets bi-monthly (more often when required) usually in the auditorium at the Joseph P. Bort MetroCenter, 101 Eighth Street, Oakland, California. Agenda packets are posted on line one week in advance of the scheduled meeting. JPC meetings are webcast in streaming audio. Staff services for the JPC are provided by the Regional Planning Program Director, Ted Droettboom. Ted welcomes your comments.
